bang!

 im back with a bang

  • this (few) weeks in fashion:

everyone's surely heard about stam's fallout, or shall i say, fall from grace; on the prada ss09 show in paris. it wasnt just her who stole the show.. other models (Yulia the russian) fell too just as soon as she made her break at Jil Sander just before the prada catwalk. i guess the culprit, for once, is the shoe..not the model. these shoes are poorly built in all laws of Physics! and structure. here's a closer look.

  • speaking of ss09: what's up with the bare midriffs? i wont ever be able to pull that off, maybe in another lifetime, but not now definitely. tummy-exposure is never cool. except when you were small in a tiny bikini by the beach all innocent. and except when you're belly dancing. not for fashion, no.

  • ss09, again: balmain's show has my OH! and so does Valentino too. while the latter is more of a chic & formal wear, i'd take Balmain anytime, anyday. everyday. yaay.
left balmain, right valentino

  • enough of vintage this, vintage that!!
there's been a suffocating influx of local online boutiques shoving vintage clothing down our throats already. I'm always a big vintage fan forever, but personally, I'm getting turned off by the convenience of getting vintage through online boutiques. Now, I'm still guilty at buying them myself but i believe some has taken it a tad too far. What's the challenge in finding vintage, when it's so easy? What is vintage about it then? It should be a HUNT. one should feel so lucky as if she's just had quadruple orgasms and enjoying a tub of ice cream without getting any fatter (not necessarily at the same time). that should be the feeling. you can tell when some boutique owners do it for passion in a way that they actually pick the really vintage-worthy ones and sell them. in the whole concept of spreading the love. and that's fine. but some...is in just for the money. just because it's cheap because it's been worn before, and they get a huge profit cut out of it. so in that way, whatever's old is called vintage. what a shame.

  • so. am moving wayyyyy off that course, and embracing simple clean lines. In the spirit of spring09 readytowear. apparent in ysl, a.f vanderfrost, celine and the like.
left: celine, middle: a.f vanderfrost; right ysl.

  • a bit of vintage here, and there, off and on it's fine. but it get's REALLY old when you actually smell like a grandma, you know what im saying.

okay. so love her or hate her, in this particular outfit nina garcia (nina godzilla) looks pretty damn crisp. for those who know me, this outfit is so me. This is a lil example of  simple and clean, yet vintage

more examples of clean.

haiyo. fesyen. saya pun still pakai my 10 year old sweater and 3 bulan tak cuci jeans. itu kira vintage tak?

BTW, bassdays are gathering off bass players in & outside of KL. usually kat memana kengkawan ada jam studio, situ la jadi mangsa. haha

selamat kembali. selamat hari raya.
